Dr. Alvarado was born in Panama. He attended the San Vicente de Paul University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree.
He received his M.D. degree in 1987 from the Central American Autonomous University in Costa Rica.

Dr. Alvarado completed his surgical residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach Florida.
This training program is affiliated with both the University of Miami and Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood Florida.
With the affiliation with Memorial Regional Hospital, Dr. Alvarado has been caring for patients in South Broward County since 1992.

Dr. Alvarado entered private practiice in 1999. He has earned a reputation for his quick and competent care of the hospitalized patient.
Since beginning in private practice, Dr. Alvarado has sought additional training in advanced laparascopic procedures.
Dr. Alvarado serves as the Chief of the section of General Surgery at Memorial Hospital Pembroke.
Dr Alvarado is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. His primary focus is general surgery.

He has special interest and training in advanced laparoscopic procedures, such as colon resections, splenectomys
and complex ventral/ inquinal hernia repairs.
